My name is Jenna Crenshaw.  I am a Christian, a wife, mom, daughter, friend, and an encourager and lover of people.

One of the most challenging aspects I face in my faith is to fully live out my Christian beliefs in my everyday life. I am called to have my faith on my mind and in my heart each day and to have a willingness to share it with others at any given time – regardless of convenience. However, the deeper calling is to be willing to get in the proverbial mud of life, both for my own living and for that of others.  It is the “wrestle it out” kind of living by faith that truly stretches me and continually grows me in the best ways that the Lord sees fit. I want to live with the faith to hope in what I cannot see. I want to act with the faith to show that I believe that not only is God real, but He is doing an incredible work in my life (and yours), even if the circumstances would seem otherwise.

My blog posts are designed to be an encouragement to you. Whether it is through daily living or critical survival through life’s trials, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” (Psalm 46:1) I pray that the reminders I share through my writings will point you towards the love of Jesus Christ, and that you will know and believe right along with me.

I have journeyed through many seasons. There have been seasons of believing and seasons of unbelief. Over the years, I have made some great choices in my life and some really really terrible ones. I am open and transparent about my life and pray that my journey with the Lord would be used for good in yours. I am thankful every day that I have been made alive together with Christ, and have been saved by the gift of grace through faith. (From Eph 2:5,8)

I love to share ponderings about faith and family, fellowship, worship, food and health, pain and suffering, purpose, and trusting a big God who has beautiful plans for my life. My big picture view is to live a healthy lifestyle, which includes many spiritual disciplines and the ability, along with willingness to, “…run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air. 27 But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.” (1 Cor 9:26-27)

My faith in Jesus Christ is the most important thing in my life. It spills over into every area of who I am. My family is a gift to me from the Lord. We are not perfect and we don’t pretend to be. However, we love the Lord, and I can rest in the verse from Proverbs 10:12 which says, “Hatred stirs up strife,
but love covers all sins.”

I want to live a real, genuine, whole, and healthy life. Like the saying we have probably all heard, “You are what you eat,” our faith operates by the same principle. If I want to grow in my faith, I must “eat” of those things that are going to nourish me, body, mind, and spirit. I must spend time each day in God’s Word, and feed on His faithfulness given to me, along with His instruction, correction, and His guidance.

To get to know me a little more, here are a few fun facts about me.

  1. I am married to my best friend, Rob. I have known him since I was 17 years old, and we love to share the incredible testimony of God’s grace and mercy
  2. I love to cook and bake. My recipe and food motto is, “I bet I can make that.”  If it is a food that comes processed and in a box or a bag, then there’s a good chance that I’ll look up a recipe and try to make it myself. I

One more thing I love is to teach others and to watch them grow.  It inspires and encourages me to discuss life and all of the issues therein.  These blog pages are a testimony of my journey with God, past, present, and my prayers for what is yet to come.  There is pain and heartache, joy and laughter.  Some of it is serious and other parts cannot be taken too seriously.

Thank you for joining me here. I pray you will be blessed as you read along. May the Lord speak to your heart through what He has done in mine.
